Always faithful, loving, and generous, Robert “Bob” L. Davis, 93, of Waco, TX, but formerly a 47 year resident of Richardson, TX, passed away with family present at Wesley Woods Rehabilitation and Care Center on December 2, 2023.

On June 5, 1930, Bob was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Asa and Anice (West) Davis. After graduating from high school, he attended a two-year business school and later, also went to Morningside College in Sioux City IA for an additional two years.
In April of 1951, Bob married Helen Armstrong in Indianapolis, Indiana, just before serving in the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1953. Soon after they began raising their family in Indianapolis, but his 43 years with Mobil Oil Corp. took them to St. Louis, MO; Sioux City, IA; Sioux Falls, SD; and finally, to Dallas, TX. As his parents owned a Mobil gas station, Bob was loyally affiliated with this company from birth through his retirement as Manager of Product Distribution and Marketing for Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
From a young age, Bob was a competitive baseball player having been a first stringer in high school through semi-pro baseball. Among other awards and accolades he was especially proud that he was chosen as the tournament’s most valuable player in the championship game where his team lost! Also, Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman sharing his knowledge and skills with his children, younger in-laws, and grandchildren.
Bob and his wife Helen faithfully served as active members of First United Methodist Church in Richardson, TX since 1973.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Davis; parents; and sister, Marilyn.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters, Julia Day (Richard), and Carol Keil (Ken); seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice at Community Healthcare of Texas, First United Methodist Church of Richardson, TX, or to your local Alzheimer’s Association.

Condolences for the family of “Robert “Bob” L. Davis”
This is such sad news. Bob Davis was simply one of the nicest people on earth. He was one of a kind and a great example to us all. Bob and Helen were the absolute best neighbors and were always so kind and attentive to our children. Helen and Davis family – we are keeping you in our prayers.

Bob was a great co-conspirator at the morning coffee crew. Helping the older and younger of the crew more than he realized. We will miss him, I will miss him.
He even let me catch the better fish when we went fishing. How he arranged that I will never know.

Joe and I were neighbors of Bob and Helen. We fell in love with them the moment we meet them . I can’t tell you the number of times I had to run over to Bobs for help, whether it be for a plumbing problem ,or a garage that wouldn’t open or even to get a squirrel out of our dogs mouth that he had caught. Our 2 girls adored Bob. He was truly one of the kindest men I’d ever meet. Bob we will miss you. Heaven has a va very special angel.

I was so sorry to hear about Bob. I remember what amazing friends you were to my parents. Kurt & Barbara Kruse. Bob was so wonderful to deliver a Eulogy at my father’s service.

As others have mentioned, Bob was one of the greatest neighbors! We always knew that our block was in good hands when Bob was monitoring situations, lending a helping hand, and just enjoying shooting the breeze with us. His kindnesses and smile won’t be forgotten. Our deepest sympathies to Helen and all the family. Bob was the “Best” for sure. I cannot tell you how this news saddens us. Bob was the Best Boss ever – more like a father to me. May he rest in peace and may God be with you all to easy your pain of loosing such a wonderful man.
