Alicia,

I am so sorry to hear about your Father. My family sent me the paper, it was a beautiful write up. My heart just breaks for your family. Please know you are in my prayers.

Condolence from Diana & Larry Mynarcik on February 28th, 2014 9:13 am

Mrs. Pocock and family,
You have our deepest sympathy. Nick was a special man and everyone had a deep respect for him here in the drafting department. After Nick retired, we all missed his smile and mild mannered ways. We are keeping you in our prayers.

Condolence from Gayle Stone on February 28th, 2014 9:13 am

Dear Family: Nick and my Dad, Joe, were in EAA together back in the 1970’s. I still have my copy of his book, "Did D.E. Custed Fly First" that he autographed for me.
Perhaps he and Daddy are doing barrel rolls in another dimension.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
His Servant,
Gayle Stone

Condolence from Jon & Annie Botsford on February 28th, 2014 9:13 am

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Nick. One of my fondest memories of Nick is when I met him early in my stint at TSTC. I was introduced to this kind gracious gentleman from England who was teaching in the Drafting & Design Department. At the time I did not have an inkling of the many avation accomplishments that he had. Years later our paths again crossed in EAA Chapter 59. There We got to know the other half of the gracious Pocock family. His passing is a loss to many. Have a great flight "West" Nick.

Condolence from Kenny Grisham on February 28th, 2014 9:14 am

Nick will be missed by all. He was a humble man who always supported each person individually. A conversation about flight in any form brought his great support and encouragement. His wonderful stories, sense of humor and passion undoubtedly, will be shared for a long time to come. I…will miss him.

Condolence from Richard Hewgley on February 28th, 2014 9:14 am

I have known Nick and Lavena Pocock for over 40 years, having met them through Frank Price’s Tiger Club of America. We attended over 20 of Frank’s annual Tiger Events through the years together with Lavena by his side. Lots of great memories have been shared between us. We have met up at just about all of the local air shows and Oshkosh many times. We have been talking aviation and flying on each others wing for all of these years. Most recently, at the EAA 59 lunches on each Thursday.

Nick was my Instructor in Aircraft Blueprint Reading while I was studying for my A&P rating at TSTC back in 1997. He introduced me to his class as a close friend and good pilot.

I will miss his great English Humor and his smile, but mostly just being around him. he was Genuine friend and a great flying gentleman!!!

Lavena, my heart feels your loneliness and loss.

Love, Rich Hewgley

It has been years since Nick’s passing but I still wanted send my condolences to his family. We grew up in China Spring and my dad knew Nick back then when I was a kid but I knew him later on a personal level as my favourite instructor when I attended TSTI. I always loved his kind and positive attitude not to mention the occasional airplane discussion. Now I work at TSTC and often think of him.
