Visitation: 5 ~ 7 PM Friday, February 24 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life: 12 PM Saturday, February 25 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

Minister Fernando Douglas was born September 3, 1968, to Mr. Freddie D. Douglas and Leah Ezetta Douglas in Galveston, Texas. He is one of ten children. He accepted Christ at a young age and graduated from University High School in Waco in 1988.

He loved his wife LaJuan whom he married June 27, 1991, and to this union, they had five children, four boys, and one girl.

He played football, ran track, and was also passionate about boxing, which he loved watching with his sons. He loved Muhammad Ali and was in theater arts where he was able to express his love of singing, dancing, and acting. He loved singing and was the lead singer of his group called “Stars of the Nation” and used his singing abilities to serenade his beloved wife, LaJuan. He was also a member of the break-dancing group the “Banana Boys” and was a great artist who had his artwork displayed in his school.

He was a great fisherman and loved to go fishing with his family, especially his brothers, where he caught some big ones and enjoyed watching us catch them too! He attended Rock of Ages Church of God in Christ and became a licensed minister under the teachings of his brother and pastor, Elder Maxwell Douglas. He was truly a man after God’s own heart and a great minister who would have you standing to your feet during his sermons. He loved to show praise through his service and could be seen proselytizing at his job because no place was too good for his Lord.

He was full of love, life, and laughter and loved to tell jokes to change his voice and make people laugh. He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He was a leader, provider and protector of his family, and he still is. He was a grandfather of twelve grandchildren and he loved them all dearly. He loved being Paw Paw and playing with and feeding his grandchildren. They will miss the love he gave them, and his family will miss the love he showed with his beautiful smile and gorgeous dimples.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Freddie D. Douglas and Mrs. Leah Ezetta Douglas; three brothers, Pastor Charles E. Douglas, Elder Frederick Douglas, and Rudolph Douglas; one sister, Frances Douglas.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and caring wife, LaJuan Douglas; six children, Jarmaine Douglas and Freddie D (Crystal) Douglas, both of Waco, TX, Ambranesha Douglas of Garland, TX, Fernando (Taylor) Douglas, Jr. of Arlington, TX, Rance Douglas, and Rasiah Douglas of Hewitt, TX; twelve grandchildren, Victoria, Julyssa, Jevon, Dyante, Shaleah, Nohr, Leah, Rance Jr., Landon, London, Aiden, and Allanah; four brothers, Elder Marvin (Sue) Douglas, Elder Maxwell (Joyce) Douglas, Edler Anthony (TeNay) Douglas, and Christopher (Stephanie) Douglas all of Waco, TX; one sister, Ezetta (Roy) Cleveland of Waco, TX; one aunt, Minnie Williams of Waco, TX, and a host of nieces and nephews, in-laws, and other family and friends.

May God continue to bless his legacy. Heaven has gained another angel in the choir. Rest in Paradise until we meet again my love.
