Mike Yokus passed away Monday, February 7, 2022. He was born August 29, 1963.

There are not enough words to fully describe the man that Mike Yokus truly was. Throughout his life he was many things to many people; each one unique to itself. He was a “salt of the Earth” kind of man. A man of integrity and honor; a man of his word. He did not pull any punches. What you saw was what you got.

He was a man of many talents and interests. As a child he loved to take things apart, figure out how they worked, then put them back together better. Obviously honing his skill to become the future “fix it man” to many. Anyone who knew him, knew he was a hard worker and liked to play even harder. Hunting, fishing, camping, innumerable motorcycle trips; all with great friends and family, creating memories to last throughout time. However, there was one thing Mike never did. He never rented pigs!

In recent years, Mike developed a new passion when he became “Poppy” to two grandsons. He enjoyed sharing his love of hunting and fishing, teaching them many things including some bad habits. He was Mike Yokus – husband, father, son, brother, friend, and his all-time favorite thing to be, “Poppy”. Most of all Mike was greatly loved, he will be missed by many.

Mike is survived by his wife, Venita, his children David Hadley, Jr. and Amber Hadley-Reid and husband Dalton and grandsons Levi and Axle Reid. He is further survived by his mother Eolior Yokus, his brothers Bill and Chris Yokus, his sister Laura Cheney (Craig), and large group of extended loving family and close friends. Mike was preceded in death by his dad William Yokus.

The family wishes to express a warm heartfelt thanks to Bri Baker, his respiratory therapist, for being Mike’s angel and bringing a ray of sunshine to his last days.

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 12 at the Knoxville Ranch 4899 Leroy Parkway, West, TX 76691. Immediately following the service, the family is encouraging everyone to stay and further celebrate Mike at an event he would surely have wanted to be a part of. There will be food, drink, BYOB and a hell of a good time sharing tales and stories of one hell of a guy, Mike Yokus.

Worked with Mike at Nash – Robinson & Waco Transit. Would go fishing at the river after work sometimes and sit on the bank for hours catching or not. So many camping trips under the Big Oak tree at the lake. God has another good MAN.
