Max Edwin Weaver, 77, of Waco, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday evening, March 7, 2023, with his wife by his side.
A service in honor of Max’s life will be held Tuesday March 14, 2023, 10:00 am at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco, TX, with Pastor Ben McCleery officiating. Click here to view the services via livestream.
Graveside ceremony and burial will be held at West End Cemetery in Stephenville, TX at 3:00 pm
There will also be a visitation with the family on Monday evening, March 13, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Max was born June 29, 1945 in Memphis, TX. He grew up farming cotton with his family in the Texas panhandle and graduated Lakeview High School in 1963. He worked at the phone company before graduating the DPS Academy in 1968. Max patrolled the highways of the great state of Texas as a State Trooper for the next 28 years. Retiring from the DPS in 1996, he worked for the US Marshal’s Office another 16 years. Max was determined and capable to fix anything, for anyone. At home, he always had projects or a new invention to solve the day’s problem. He faithfully served Chalk Bluff Baptist Church and loved his church family. He was committed to his friends and never wanted to miss the church’s Senior Thursday domino game. He enjoyed afternoon drives with his wife and dogs, and valued any time spent with his grandchildren and their growing families. Max considered it his duty to provide for his family, serve his church, and protect and support his fellow Texans.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, L.T. (Preach) and Margaret Weaver; brother, David Weaver; daughter, Angela Beth Weaver.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dee Ann Runyon Weaver of Waco, TX; Four children: Kellie Carlson and husband Lyndell, Kris McCleery and husband Ben, all of Stephenville, TX, Kyle Weaver and wife Jackie of Waco, TX, Ashley White and husband Daniel of Austin, TX; Eight grandchildren: Seth Reding, Lane Carlson, Chase Carlson, Jordan McCleery, Morgan McCleery, all of Stephenville, TX, Jake Weaver of Liberty Hill, TX, Zachary Weaver of College Station, TX, Jessica Nelson of Austin, TX; Eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters: Carole Clark of Azle, TX, Ann Kennedy of Hedley, TX, Barbara Todd and husband Roy of Canadian, TX, Jeanne Ware of Waco, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chalk Bluff Baptist Church, 5993 Gholson Rd, Waco, TX, 76705.

Dee Ann, I am so so sorry my heart goes out to u and the family. I loved Max and always enjoyed visiting with u both and taltalking and laughing. I just cannot believe it my prayers go out to u and if there is anything,anything I can do please let me know
Dee Ann, I am very sorry about Max passing. He was a good friend. Both Donna and I enjoyed playing dominos with (and against) Max at Thursday’s seniors.

I’m very sorry to just now read of your husband’s passing Dee Ann. We will lift you up to the Lord for comfort and consolation.
DeeAnn and family, we are so very sorry for your loss of Max. Max was a great loving friend who would do anything for anyone, especially his family and friends. Max is now rejoicing in heaven, we all know we will be joined with Max one day in heaven. Prayers for peace, comfort, and strength in the days ahead.

DEE ANN-CAROL_ANN_BARBARA_JEANNIE This is the hardest news I have I could have heard….Max was my hero. I can not remember my growing up days at Brice without the Weaver family being front and center. So many sweet memories. Preach cutting my meat and setting in his lap when the train in “Casey Jones” came around the bend, because I was so scared it would come out of the T.V. Mugs’ fried chicken. I so enjoyed Max being in my SS class at CBBC. It was truly a blessing. How he cared for DeeAnn was truly a loving thing to see. The way he cared for the church was also Amazing. I will always think of him in the summer heat mowing the “South Forty” at CBBC and in so many ways quietly serving. Sending Love.
