Manuel Jose Guzman, a dedicated and accomplished individual, passed away on November 2, 2023. Born to Carlos and Ramona Guzman, Manuel lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

Memorial Service: 2pm Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco, Texas

Manuel began his journey in the United States Army in January of 1977. Throughout his military career, he showcased his exceptional skills and commitment. He served as a commo guy before embarking on a new adventure in flight school, eventually becoming a skilled helicopter test pilot. Manuel’s dedication to his country was unwavering, and he retired from the Army in July of 1997.

Following his military service, Manuel joined BNSF RAILROAD in 1997 as a signalman. He continued to excel in his work, showcasing his expertise and earning the respect of his colleagues. Manuel dedicated over two decades to the railroad industry before retiring in May of 2020.

Manuel was a cherished husband to his loving wife, Candice, who was the love of his life. Manuel leaves behind his children Jessica and her husband Robert, Melissa and her wife Liz, Rosanna, Carley, and Caylynn. Manuel was also blessed with his twin babies, Caroline and Carlos, who brought immense joy to his life. He also had three grandsons and one adoring granddaughter.

In addition to his immediate family, Manuel is survived by his brothers Carlos and Ramon Guzman, as well as his sisters Carmen and Terri. He was predeceased by his parents Carlos and Ramona sisters Beatrice and Delores, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms in the afterlife.

Manuel will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, genuine kindness, and infectious laughter. He was a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration to all who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Caroline and Carlos Guzman scholarship fund in Manuel’s honor. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Please see the link below.
