Leona D. Derr, 78, of Waco, passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 2PM Monday, August 25th at Gholson Cemetery with Chaplain Brian Pendleton officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7PM Sunday at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco. Mrs. Derr will be available for viewing starting at 1PM Sunday. Leona was born July 31, 1930 in Jerome, Ohio to Foster C. and Vivian (Stephenson) Blain, the oldest of four children.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Vivian E. Maynard.

Survivors include daughter, Corrine Nunn and husband, Don of Gholson; son, Samuel R. Maynard and wife, Tammy of Ocala, Florida; six grandchildren, Ray, Kimberly, Djuna, Sean, Samuel III., and Cherish; and seven great grandchildren.
