Keith John Thornton, 78 of Robinson, Tx passed away Friday October 1, 2021, at Providence Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021, at The Twin Bridges Pavillion.

Keith was born in Postville, Iowa, October 6, 1942, to Wilbur and Helen Preyer-Thornton. He graduated High school May 25, 1960, and entered into the United States Air Force September 30, 1960. Serving until September 29, 1964.

He then went to work at AO Smith Bomb Company and taught air craft mechanics at TSTC. He began his career at Duncan Freightliner until June  of 1981 when he joined Central Freight lines.

He was named mechanic of the year 5 years in a row, also winning the doctorate award for building the first Mary Kay freightliner in 1984.

He married Brenda Joyce Gummelt, June 15, 1962, followed by the birth of their two daughters Lisa and Lark Thornton.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Brenda Joyce Thornton; parents, Wilbur and Helen Thornton; sisters, Mary Thornton Torkelson and Beverly Thornton Dale; brothers, Gene, Jim and Mike Thornton.

He is survived by both his daughters, Lisa and Lark; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Dawn Thornton Cables and Faye Thornton, and many nieces and nephews.

I met Keith when lark and I were friends in high school. He and his wife were living in Robinson at the time and took me in as their own. Keith and Brenda both were the sweetest and were certainly be missed.
