Kathy Schroeder, 72, of China Spring, passed away Monday, June 22nd at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 11AM Saturday, June 27th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Grant officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Friday, June 26th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Kathy was born January 11, 1937 in Wortham Bend to Toss and Addie (Cotton) Stone. She married Ken Schroeder on November 16, 1956 in Waco. She served many years as an election judge for McLennan County and China Spring I.S.D. She was an Active member of China Spring Lions Club. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bonnie.
Survivors include husband of 52 years, Ken Schroeder of China Spring; sons, Wayne Schroeder and Randy Schroeder and wife, Marsha, both of China Spring; daughter, Linda Smith of China Spring; seven grandchildren; sisters, Dovie Winkelmann and husband, Wilburn and Bobbie Kimball and husband, Jim, both of China Spring, Faye Koehne of Killeen and Myrna Scott and husband, Stewart of Bosqueville; brother, Don Stone and wife, Barbara of China Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Schroeder, Tyler Smith, Steve Schroeder, Gregg Wendorf, Josh Duren, Roxanne Hodge, and Jamey Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers will be Lions Club members.
Memorials may be made to Texas Lions Camp handicapped and diabetic children. P.O. Box 290247, Kerrville, TX 78029.

I was so sorry to hear of Kat’s passing. She was a wonderful lady and I always enjoyed visiting with her. She could always make me laugh! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Kat was someone I always enjoyed seeing and visiting with. She had a smile and a hug that I will truly miss.

Mr. Schroeder and Family,
I was so saddened to hear about Kathy. She was truly one of the sweetest and most loving people I’ve ever known, and will so miss her smile and her hugs. Her love for China Spring and the selfless way that she served our community throughout the years will never be forgotten nor duplicated.
May the Lord give you comfort and peace during this time, and know that if there’s anything our family can do, please let us know. Take comfort in knowing what a blessing Kathy was to me and my family.

It is important to remember that you must never double dose. If you miss a dose, don’t go back to it, but continue following your schedule and take the next dose.
I am so sorry to have heard about Kat. She was truly an amazing woman, and someone who I admired and respected. I know that she will be missed by many, and I am thankful that was able to know her. I hope that you will find comfort in your memories of her. Please know that you are in my thoughts and my prayers and do not hesitate to call if you need anything.

My heart is broken at the loss of this sweet, sweet, lady. She always treated me as one of her own, good times and bad, and always had a warm hug and huge laugh. Visits with her were both love fests and laugh fests.
Kathy and I will hold her sweetness (and sauciness) in our memories forever. She was a bright light and a picture of class.
There is laughter in heaven today, and we all know why.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Kat for a long time, but I did get to love her for a short time. She will be sadly missed. A woman of great compassion and love, who never complained. She’s with Our Lord now and loving every minute. You fought a good fight, you precious woman of God.
