Joy Benny Wilson, 78, of Waco, died Saturday, July 13, 2019.
Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma
Joy was born December 5, 1940 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Irving and Marguerite Benny. She was especially fond of her aunt, Annie Scarborough, with whom she spent most of her childhood. She graduated from Cushing High School Class of ’59. She spent some time at Oklahoma State University before beginning a family.
She had an infectious smile and a very sweet heart. She will be remembered fondly by all those who loved her.
She is survived by her six children and their families, Lori McMichael and husband, Brad of Waco, Kelli Kitchens and husband, John of San Antonio, Kevin Wilson and wife, Tina of Waco, Robert Wilson and wife, Deanna of Waco; daughters, Kristin Zarraga and Kara Wilson both of Waco. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zachary and Bayley McMichael of Waco, Ashley Taylor and Cassie Reid of Waco, Megan and J.C. Kitchens of San Antonio, Caleb, Ella and Elena Wilson of Waco, Aiden and Avery Wilson of Waco, and four great grandchildren. She also had numerous friends whom she fondly adored.

Condolences for the family of “Joy Benny Wilson”
I knew Joy since we were in grade school. She indeed was one of the sweetest girls I ever met. I would give her hair permanents in high school. Her aunt thought I did that better than any hair dresser. I never heard her say an unkind word about anyone. She was most certainly one of a kind. So sorry to hear of her passing.

So sorry for what everyone is going through, thoughts and prayers for the family. I feel honored to have been her Hospice nurse and got to see her weekly. I looked forward to seeing her weekly and kept wondering how she keeps her face so smooth without any wrinkles- she never did tell me her secret, maybe genetics. I will miss her sweet smiles and kindness. Thank you again for allowing me to help take care of her.

I’m so sorry for all you kids. I thought alot of your mom. It’s going to be hard but you will make it through. You’re all in my prayers. Joy and I were family for quite awhile and I still consider all of you family. Live you all.
