Memorial Service: 3PM Sunday, March 20th, at Cornerstone Fellowship, 207 E Frederick St, Riesel, Texas to celebrate and honor Johnny’s life with Pastor Cyd Collins officiating.

Johnny Martinez (Poppa), age 58, gained his angel wings Monday, March 14, 2022 in Waco.

He was born December 3, 1963 in Mexia, to parents Ernest Martinez and Bobbie Joyce Adcock. Johnny was a loving husband, father, brother and Poppa. He married the love of his life, his soulmate, Lisa Campbell, 21 years ago on February 10, 2001.

Johnny’s passions were his family, softball, dancing, monster trucks, cooking or taking his family out to eat, watching his grandchildren play sports, spending time with grandchildren, telling them stories and taking them on adventures, even if it was in the front yard, family birthday parties and dressing up. He loved to dress up as Barney for birthday parties. One year he dressed up as Darth Vader so his nephew could battle the enemy! Johnny was just a big kid! Johnny also enjoyed construction projects and working with his brother, Ernie.

Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Martinez; sister, Bette “Boosie” Sedillo, and angel grandson, Axton Engelke.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lisa Campbell-Martinez; mom, Bobbie Joyce Adcock; daughters, Jessika Gordon of Riesel, LaTasha Drexler of Oklahoma, LeeAnn Holecek and husband Dustin of Gholson, Lindsey Martinez and fiancé David of Aquilla, Lacy Martinez and husband William, Kaitlyn (KK) Campbell-Martinez of Riesel, Savanah Campbell-Martinez of Riesel; 11 grandchildren, Jaxon, Dixie, Braxton, Texas, Kyler, Kaycen, Kade, Evan, Darius Jr. (Bubba), Brakleigh, and grandson on the way; brothers, Ernie Martinez and Michael Martinez; sisters, Debbie Richter, Lisa Watkins, Kimmie Stephens and Becky Papendorf; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
