James Michael January, Sr., of China Spring, passed away Monday, October 2, 2016. A private memorial service will be held.

Michael was born December 2, 1945 in Waco, to Everett E. and Eva Pauline (Pringle) January. He was a retired disabled vet who served his country in the army as a paratrooper and combat engineer.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; son, Earnest Lee January; and brother, Edsol January.

Survivors include his children, Kimberly Marie January, Michelle January, James Michael January, Jr., and Everett Daniel January; sisters, Sissy Purivs and husband, W.A., Adine Marie Myrow and husband, Ken, and Yvonne Moulton; brother, Melvin January; best friend and cousin, Ronald “Turtle” Cawthon; cousins, Roger and Ed Frields; and several nieces and nephews.
