James Edward Martin, 75, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.

Burial with Military Honors: Rosemound Cemetery

On August 15, 1946, James was born to the late Catherine Lee and Louis Martin Jr. in Lexington, North Carolina. James married Cleo Martin on January 4, 1972, to whom preceded him in death.

James, often referred to by those who knew him well as “Bear,” shared a devoted love for God. He joined the US Army in 1967, serving in the Vietnam War, leaving honorable. As a proud, bold, and courageous soldier, he would later join once more to fight for our county.

We will remember him through his love, patience, kindness, and gentle spirit. And although he is no longer with us in the flesh, we will carry him in our hearts until we meet him again in that magical place.

Those left to cherish his memory, a daughter, Catherine Martin; brother, Charles Martin, five grandchildren, LaTavia Martin, Felicia Martin-Omar, Charles Lott, Diamond Martin, and Marcus Henry; five great-grandchildren, Messiah Martin, Azariah and Zion Omar, Percy Broussard, and Ivy Martin.
