Gustavo was born September 1, 1986 in Waco to Lorenzo and Linda (Garcia) Cardona.  He graduated from University High School and was employed as a Supervisor at Clayton Mobile Homes.

Gustavo was a Dallas Cowboy fanatic and enjoyed watching the game with family and friends.  He supported those boys even when they lost.  Pretty much everything he owned was Dallas Cowboys.  He enjoyed grilling, building, vacationing and time with family and friends.  Gustavo was a loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend to all.  He loved family gatherings, joking around, laughter and opened his home to everyone.  He brought you joy no matter how your day was.  Gus was very kind, good hearted, charming, charismatic and unique.   He was always there to lend a hand if needed, always had a smile and never met a stranger.  He was loved by many and a cool dude!  He will be truly missed and never forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Josefina and Maricela.

He is survived by his parents; loving wife, Marybel; children, Gustavo Jr., Nicholas, Jasmine and Marilyn; brothers, Lorenzo Jr. and Elias of Waco and sister Patricia of New York.

Pallbearers will be Emmanuel “Chino” Flores, Mario Zuniga, Miguel Castro, Raymond Guajardo, Ismael Castro, Oscar Cruz and Juventino “Hugo” Suarez.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Gustavo Cardona, Jr., Nicholas Cardona, Lorenzo Cardona, John-Paul Cardona and Julian Suarez.

May Gus rest in peace, play in Heaven, carry his spirit in our hearts and his memory forever cherished.

I met Gus 22 years ago…. he was kind, silly, and always included everyone and wanted to make everyone around him smile. He was an inspiration to many and loved by all who met him. I have carried his memory since then, and I will always carry him with me. Rest peacefully, dear Gus.
