Gertie Beatrice Butler
Sunrise: March 23, 1937 Elgin, Bastrop County, TX.
Sunset: April, 17, 2023 Waco, McLennan County, TX.
Per her wishes there will no viewing, visitation, or traditional service. There will only be a private graveside service at China Spring Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
She was the daughter of George Allen LaFrance and Addie Mae Marie ‘Missy’ (neè Miller) Whitaker.
She married C. K. ‘Ted’ Butler June 9, 1956 at the home of Ted and Dorothy Talbert in Waco, TX. Dorothy was Ted Butler’s cousin. Ted and Gertie had three children, Teresa Kay Butler Parrish of Riesel, Tx., Anna Marie ‘Ann’ Butler Samford of Waco, TX and Claude Kenneth Butler, Jr. also of Riesel, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Lillian McJimsey, Margie Huckabay and infant sister, Catherine Whitaker; brother, Homer Whitaker and two infant brothers, Birtis LaFrance and John Whitaker; and nieces Kathy Fisher and Sandy Gail Cochran.
She is survived by her children; grandson, Randall Samford, Sr. of Midway, TX.; great-grandson, Randall ‘R. J.’ Samford, Jr. of Waco; sister, Peggy Hesskew of Blanco, TX.; aunt, Dorothy Eckert of Houston; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins scattered throughout Texas.
