Floyd Strickland, 63, of Eddy, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at a local nursing center. Graveside services will be 10AM Friday, September 24th at Eddy Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Donnell officiating. There will be no visitation. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com.
He was preceded in death by father, William Ted Strickland; mother, Lois Royals Strickland; brother, Jimmy Wayne Strickland.
Survivors include sons, Floyd Wayne Strickland and Nathan Strickland of Waco; daughters, Vicky Lynn Pruett of Waco and Lori Stewert of Riesel; five grandchildren; brothers; Ted And wife Darlene Strickland of Hewitt, and Lloyd and wife Jonell Strickland of Eddy; and sister; Helen Massigale of Waco.

Floyd,
Today will be the last time to say goodbye. We’ve said goodbye many times in the past. This time it’s bitter sweet, because even though my heart is breaking, I know you are in a better place. My condolences to your beloved family.

I was sorry to hear of Floyd’s passing. A lot of his fellow musicians are mourning his loss. He was a very good bass player and I enjoyed the times that we played music together. He will be missed.
Floyd we went to University High together & I will never forget how friendly You were to a shy young girl. Sing with the Angels. MY prayers are with your family.
