Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Parrish, 60, passed away from a longtime illness Monday, August 9, 2021.
Service Information: Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 13, at Concord Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 12, at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Cindy was born July 2, 1961 in Waco, Texas to Bobby and Jeannette Edge. She graduated from La Vega High School where she met the love of her life, Stephen Parrish. They married on June 4, 1983 and spent 38 years together. Cindy was a giving and compassionate person who loved her family and friends very much. She treasured her grandchildren and her time with them. Cindy enjoyed mini trips to Lake Buchanan and Lake Whitney.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Parrish; children, Shara McDermott and husband, Connor and Destiny Parrish; grandchildren, Alaina and Harper McDermott and Emily Patterson; siblings, Diana Pena and husband, Donny and Terry Edge and wife, Marsha and brother-in-law, Gary Parrish and wife, Teresa.

Cindy was the sweetest person and loved Steve, her girls, and granddaughters so much. She faced every problem with a positive attitude and put her faith in God. She will be missed so much by everyone that knew and loved her. ❤
Cindy, I wish we had taken the time an spent more time talking and visiting each other.

Cindy was the kindest, sweetest, generous and most positive person I have ever known! She definitely will be missed by all of us that loved her! My heart is broken, but I will forever be thankful that God allowed us to be friends for so many years! My deepest sympathies for Steve, Shara, Alaina, Harper, Destiny, and Emily, my thoughts and prayers are with you! I will always love and miss you, Cindy!

So sorry for you and your family’s loss. Cindy was such a beautiful, kind, positive friend. She blessed so many lives with her smile, love, and faith. She loved her family dearly and loved spending time with each of you. She will be deeply missed and memories will be fondly treasured. Know that so many are praying for all of you. Praying for you to feel strength, comfort, and peace as you remember and honor the life of someone so special.

I was so shocked when I read this in the paper today. Steve you and Cindy were some of my favorite foster/adoptive parents. I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you and the family.
Stephen, I’m sorry I won’t make the service today on account of the heat & my own health issues. Just know you & the girls are in my thoughts. I pray ya’ll take comfort in the fact Cindy is now well and whole as we are all meant to be when we reach heaven. For you Stephen I offer part of the lyrics from an old Tex Ritter song “Just Beyond the Moon” which is where Cindy awaits you.
It opens with “I’ll walk just beyond the moon then I’ll stop and wait for you…” and the last verse says –
“…I’ll just sit there by a star and I’ll watch you from afar
‘Til I see you walking toward me someday soon
Then together hand in hand we’ll find our promised land
And we’ll settle down forever darlin’ just beyond the moon…”
