On October 22, 2016 an unyielding spirit was called home. Chester Lee Rowe was a man unlike any other. He would give you the shirt off his back and then offer to buy you a jacket to go with it. He was a fun loving and caring man. He fought a long tough battle with cancer, proving that he would not go so easily, and that he was determined to beat his ailment. Yet all battles must come to an end; his came peacefully and exactly where he wanted to be – in the privacy and sanctity of his home.
Chester was born at home on December 15, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James Houston and Ruby Frances Rowe. He was preceded in death by his brother James Melvin Rowe.
He leaves behind: his wife of twenty-four years Veronica Lee Rowe; two children Cheston Rowe and his wife Rachel, Faith Rowe-Brewer and her husband Marecus; three grand-children Brian Birkhead, Jr., Zane Rowe, and Jace Rowe; four brothers Albert Rowe (Cora), Reggie Rowe (Lora), Charles Rowe, and Robert Rowe; one sister Marcia Rowe, his dear friend and sister-in-law Joyce Rowe, his former wife Joan Smith Rowe whom he remained friends with, as well as nieces, nephews, and a bevy of friends.
Funeral Service: Lakeshore Funeral Home in Waco, Texas on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends before his wish for cremation will be carried out.

You were my Father, my brother and my friend. You will be greatly missed, you fought a great fight. Now you can rest. Rest easy and in peace I love you.

Chester, you were and still are an amazing, kind sweet, funny, smart, well i could keep going but what’s the point everyone knew what kind of man you were. But truly a great friend. So go home my sweet friend where there’s no more pain, only love and peace. We love you and will miss you greatly.
I hope that our Lord brings you and your family the much-needed peace during this sad time.

At a time like this it’s hard to find the right words. Dad I’ll miss you. Even with the sadness that I feel, I am happy. I’m happy because you no longer have the burden of illness and pain. You are home with the Heavenly father and with family that’s gone on before. I can’t promise there will be no tears. I’ll mourn for awhile but then I will celebrate your life because I know your spirit is soaring. I will miss you like crazy but I know I’ll see you again. Rest easy and save a spot for me. I love you Dad.

Chester go on and take your rest. When I talked to
you last, you told me that you were going to fight for your life. That you did but God decided to bring you home. You are heal now, no more pain and suffering. I must say you fought the good fight, you have finished the race and now you at home for all eternity. Continue to take your rest.
