Betty Fayrene Slaughter, 80, of Valley Mills, passed away peacefully at The Atrium of Bellmead Monday, June 29, 2020
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Crenshaw officiating
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Burial: Crawford Cemetery
She was born on October 22, 1939 to Lewis Clay Lipsey and Etta Ruth Scott Lipsey in Jonesboro,Texas.She married Robert Bon Slaughter on August 3, 1955. She was known as Fayrene by most everyone but also as Mama, Ma, Nene to her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and nieces and nephews. She had careers ranging from working at Owen- Illinois Glass Plant, Piggly Wiggly, Olan Mills and most recently Parkview Childcare where she was employed until 2018 when she retired at the age of 78. She was a faithful member of Parkview Baptist Church and enjoyed outings with the Single Ladies group. To know Ms. Fayrene was to love her, she was a sweet spirit and loved her family, friends and church family with all her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; brothers, Henry Lipsey, Willie Lipsey and Jacky Lipsey; and granddaughter Maylan White.
She is survived by her daughter, Tressa Massingill and husband, Calvin of Valley Mills, TX, their children, Nicklaus Louis and wife Kelly and their children, Olivia and Avery Fay of Hutto,TX, and Adam Louis and wife Kristel and their children Samuel, Benjamin and Emily of West, TX, and Toni Massingill and daughter Kayla Schrank of Hamilton, TX.Daughter, Terri Kephart and husband Jim of China Spring and their children Justin Walts and fiancée, Jessica Underwood and daughter Everlee of Speegleville, TX, Jaymie Margiotta and husband Kyle and their son Arrison of Lawton,Oklahoma and Jaycie Walts of Waco, TX, Cara Bailey and husband Michael and their sons, Kohlton, Kaleb and Konnor of Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma, Kimberly Peck and husband Isaac of Budgoszcz, Poland .Son, Alvin Slaughter and wife Syndi of Valley Mills, TX, and their children Ezra Slaughter and wife Brandi and their children Charliann and Eli of San Antonio, TX, Lacey Brown and children, Emeri, Brynlee, Stella and Rebel of Valley Mills, TX.Son, Donny Slaughter and wife Robin, their children Clinton Slaughter, Cameron Don Slaughter, Braden White, Camryn White and Macee Slaughter. Sisters Elaiene Dickau and husband Joe, Mary Tobola and Sara Darden, sisters in law Betty Ann Slaughter and Jackie Slaughter, special friend Cathy Webb and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Nicklaus Louis, Adam Louis, Justin Walts, Ezra Slaughter, Clinton Slaughter and Cameron Slaughter.
Thank you to the staff and members of Parkview Baptist Church for their visits and prayers for our mom.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to the staff of the Atrium for all the loving care that was given to their mother.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given in her name to Parkview Children’s Ministries in care of Parkview Baptist Church.

I love this lady so much and her passing will leave a hole in my heart that can not be filled.Rejoice in Heaven Ma.I would have loved to see that hug you got from Jesus.
Fayrene and I worked together at Parkview Christian Childcare Center. She was the sweetest lady and always have time to make time for me for our lunches then to go out and have coffee and just to know that we shared alot of fun times.
She will be truly missed in the hearts and lives of those who have got to know her and love her.
My prayers are with her family.

Mom I will miss you so much. I know that we were like oil and water sometimes but you were the sweet one and I was the sour one. lol I love you so much and you know how much you meant to me and my kids. Thank you for making Calvin feel like one of the family. We will remember you and all the laughs we had at the house. Thank you for being there for me at the lowest point in my life. Not only did you give me life but you saved my life. No one knows what we went through together and how we kept each other going. I don’t know what to do without you right now. I am sad that you had to be quarantined and we couldn’t sit with you and take you out for dinner. God was ready for you to come home or maybe you were just tired of this old life and all it’s troubles and heartaches. I will see you again someday, give Mamaw, Grandad Lewis and my daddy a hug from me. Tell Uncle Jacky about his pretty girl Stacey and how she looks so much like him.
I worked with Fayrene at Olin Mills. She was always a joy to be around. She was a wonderful friend. I know she will be missed by many.

Miss Fayerine is one of the most loving, caring ladies I had the privilege to know. She had a warm smile & caring heart for all. I know it’s hard to wrap our minds around her going but she is smiling in heaven now. You will be in our prayers in the days to come for comfort in all you might face.
Fayrene was a sweet and caring soul and will be missed by so many lives and hearts she touched. Praying for her family for their loss of such a beautiful, wonderful lady.

Dear Tressa, Terri, Alvin, Donnie, and all of your family members. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My heart goes out to you. I have such fond memories of Fayrene, and all of you, and I have loved her since we were kids. She had such a sweet spirit and she was always so kind to me. Even though I had not seen her in years, she will always have a place in my heart, and so will all of you. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I pray for peace and healing for you. We just found this out today. We are so sorry for yoyour loss. We thought very highly of your mom/grandmother and all the other family members who are missing her. She always had a smile on her face, and it made you glad to see her. I’m so sad she is gone. Everyone loved her that knew her, and we had the utmost respect for her. Prayers for all of you.
