"Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy."

I will cherish all of the wonderful memories I have of Aunt Katy. She was a strong, funny, special lady who left a lasting impression on everyone she met.I feel comforted by the fact that her light is now shining down on us all. Though she is gone, my love for her will never fade.

I had the honor of being Katy and Patrick’s pastor. I have to say that in the time I knew Katy that she taught me lessons about faith and trusting God even in the worst of circumstances, her cancer. She faced her illness with great dignity and trust in God’s ability to do anything, even if it His plan wasn’t to physically heal her in this life. God was very pleased with her and today she is undoubtedly in heaven with Jesus!!! To the family and friends: Corrie Ten Boom, a Nazi Holocaust survivor once said, "When God sends you down stony paths, He always provides strong shoes." You are in our prayers!

Kay was the best school bus-riding buddy a girl could ever have hoped for – not to mention an awesome friend. Kay’s gentle strength inspired me and made me want to be just like her. She will live on in the hearts of family and friends. God definitely picked a beautiful flower for His garden.
