James (Jim) Bennett Mullen, 84, of Waco, passed away May 5, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer.  Jim was a kind, caring man loved by all who were blessed to have known him.

Visitation: 6 – 8 PM Thursday, May 11 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Jim was born July 6, 1938 in Waco, TX to Mildred and William Mullen. In 1961 Jim married the love of his life Jimmie Lu Hoard (Mullen) and together they had three sons.

Jim was well known and respected by the many local contractors and electricians he worked with during his 60+ year career in electrical sales at GESCO, Dealers Electric and Elliot Electric Supply.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie; children, Greg (Carina), Brad (Lesley) and Jeff Mullen, along with his grandchildren, Madison, Connor, David Alan, and his dog Scout.

In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Fuzzy Friends or The Humane Society. In life as in death the best remembrance of Jim would be his wish for everyone to be kind to others.

Leaving my thoughts and prayers to Jimmie Lu and all his family. During the years I have known Jim, Jimmie Lu and the boys we have had many enjoyable times together with school functions and programs for our kids. He will be missed greatly by many people. He was always willing to help in any way he could. The Mullen family has been a blessing to me and my family. Love you all.

Jim was one the good ones! Working with him at Dealers and Elliott will always be remembered. He was a wealth of knowledge and always had a cup of coffee in his hand ! Even after moving on we still kept in touch at least once a year with our MLK phone call – when we could remember – ha ha !
