Zachary Scott Shanz

Zachary Scott Shanz, age 56, passed away in his home in Robinson, Monday,  February 28, 2022. Zach was born on February 21, 1966 in Dallas to parents; Vernon Ringham and Teresa Adams. He went to school at Old Mesquite where he played football and would go on to OSU for some time before joining the Navy where he was honorably discharged. Then he spent the majority of his life as an HVAC service tech for Haught AC, with over 20 years of service. He was married for a time to ex-wife Gilda Luciani with whom he had 2 children he would love and support throughout his life. Zach’s hobbies included fishing and camping out at Lake Mexia with step-father Billy Skipper, playing Clash of Clans, and he was an amateur gold mining enthusiast.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Vernon and Bobbie Adams and parents Billy Shanz and Teresa Adams. He is survived by his 2 children; Scott Shanz and Valerie Drew, 4 grandchildren;Ryder, Reygan, Rexalyn, and River; Step-Father; Billy “BJ” Skipper; Aunt; Debbie and Uncle Steve Peevey, 2 brothers; Jackie and Johnny Shanz; cousins; Kevin and Michael Peevey among others, and his 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
There will be no funeral service as per Zach’s wishes. He has asked immediate family spread his ashes over Lake Mexia in memoriam.   2. So sorry to hear about Zach. I hadn’t seen him since he was about 3. He was my 1st cousin on his dad’s side of the family. He has crossed my mind several times I looked on Facebook but was never able to find him. My prayers are for his family to have comfort at this time of loss. God Bless.
