W.B. “Mack” Langford, 74, of Prairie Hill, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on November 23, 2021, in the arms of his devoted wife, Earline and his son, Ronnie. God answered our prayer for W.B. to have a peaceful passing.

Service Information: A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, December 4, at 2:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Lake Shore Funeral Home. The family asks that you come as you are, we are encouraging everyone to dress casually.

W.B. began his wonderful journey through life on December 11, 1946, in San Diego, CA born to W.B. Langford, Sr. and Rethel Moore. He married the love of his life, Earline Lynch, on June 24, 1965. Together they had two children, Mona and Ronnie. W.B. filled many roles throughout his lifetime, however, his most celebrated was his role as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also very gifted and talented; he enjoyed building and creating unusual things. He was always thought of as the most intelligent and intuitive member of our family, which often led others to call on him for help and advice.

As a young child, W.B. attended LaVega and Axtell schools. After school he worked in many different capacities, which offered him the opportunity to learn multiple trades and many life skills. He was the owner and operator of Texaco gas service station in the 60’s, then he went to work for Central Texas Iron Works for a short time until he was hired by Katy Railroad. He worked for Katy Railroad as a track maintenance technician until he was injured and could no longer perform his job duties. He then went on to work for Orkin Pest Control and Star Electric until 1970 when he was afforded the opportunity to go back to school. He enrolled in Kilgore College, in Kilgore, Texas where he and his family resided while he earned his degree in jewelry repair on September 30, 1971. Not only did he successfully complete the course, but he completed the 18 month course in only 6 months. He and his family then returned to the Waco area and within a few years had purchased their first home  where the second most celebrated part of his journey would begin. With the help of his family, he converted the garage of their home into Langford Jewelry and Repair, where he envisioned and created unique and unusual things for 23 years. During this time Mack, as he was known to most of his customers, made many, many special friendships.

Some of his hobbies include; arrowhead hunting, rock hunting, wood carving and metal detecting. Also, his intuitive spirit  and creative nature led him in pursuit of knowledge and a desire to develop his  talents. It was his goal to then share that knowledge and talent with anyone that would accept it.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dalton Robins; and great-granddaughter, Luna Ruiz.

Left to celebrate his memory is wife, Earline Langford; daughter, Mona Mervyn and husband, Tom of Woodway; son, Ronnie of Prairie Hill; grandchildren, Tadd Robins and wife, Kaitlyn of Lorena, Shae Gipson of Woodway, Autumn Ruiz and husband, Isaac of Lubbock, Alexis (Lexi) Mervyn of Waco and Rheannon Mervyn of Woodway; sister, Jean Pack of Waco; 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Langford, Tadd Robins, Robby Berry, Frankie Ingram, Ryan McMahon, Russell McMahon, Tom Mervyn and Jay Harshfield.

The family extends a special thank you to Nurse Pam with Ascension at Home Care, Nurse Jacque with Compassus Hospice, his best friend, Frankie Ingram and his devoted children.
