Violet Lorraine Wiechering

Violet

Violet Wiechering, 94, of Waco passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in Waco.

Graveside Service: 11AM Monday, April 7, 2025 at McGregor Cemetery.

She was born in Shawsville, Virginia, on March 1, 1931. When she was 21 years old, she met a handsome, young soldier named Raymond Wiechering who was stationed in the area. After a short courtship, they were married on June 14, 1952, in Christiansburg, Virginia, and were blessed with 63 years of marriage. When Ray was sent overseas to Korea, Violet stayed with family members and learned the ways of living as a Texan. After he returned from Korea, they lived in McGregor for a few years and then moved to Waco. Ray worked at Hercules while Violet raised three beautiful daughters, Martha (Moppy), Amy, and Lori. After the girls were grown, Violet loved working at Highland Baptist Day School. She and Ray eventually opened Little Peoples Day Care in the 1990’s. All the families and children loved “Mrs. Violet.” After selling the Day School, they moved to Mexia where they loved living by the lake and enjoyed beautiful calm evenings by the water. In 2007 they moved back to Waco to be closer to their children. After Ray passed away in 2016, Violet moved to Lake shore Estates and then to Stilwell Senior Living. Wherever she went Violet always enjoyed being with friends and making new friends. She was a beautiful redhead, with a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious smile. Violet had a zest for life, and everyone who knew her loved her dearly. She will be truly missed.

Violet was preceded in death by husband Ray; three daughters, Martha Ann Wiechering, Amy Elaine Kolar, and Lorie Lynn Molina.

Violet is survived by son-in-law, Art Molina; grandchildren, Katie Lynn Kolar, Kourtney Ann Kolar, Mallorie Elizabeth Zander, Zachary Ray Molina and bonus grandson, Joshua Molina, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Condolence Messages

  1. Violet will be missed. She was the kindest, sweetest and most gracious and gentle lady always. She would
received me with love and encouragement and a smile each time I had the privilege of seeing her.

  2. Mrs. Wiechering was one of the nicest people I ever had the privilege to meet. My condolence to her family.

  3. Violet was my oldest and only living aunt and it breaks my heart to know she has left us. I have so many memories of visiting her in Waco as a child, and her, Ray and the girls coming to visit us in VA. I last saw her in 1988 when I left Lackland AF base to head back to VA. I took the bus from San Antonio and her and Uncle Ray picked me up at the bus station. I spent the week with them and I think by the end of the week they where ready for me to go as Amy and I together was a handful…. Aunt Violet and I spoke on the phone every other week until she moved in to the assisted living and no longer remembered me on the phone. I have beautiful memories of her and the entire family and would have loved to have been able to visit one last before she passed. I loved her dearly will see her again in Heaven.
