Victor Galindo Rogers, 84, a longtime resident of Waco, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Visitation: 6:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00AM Monday, September 18, 2017 at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church, 315 Jefferson Avenue, in Waco.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

Victor was born October 3, 1932 in Adamsville, Texas to the late Antonio and Pauline Galindo Rogers. He attended schools in Evant, Texas and went on to marry the love of his life, Theresa Ledesma on August 2, 1953 in Hamilton, Texas. Together they raised their family in the Oglesby, McGregor and Waco areas. Victor started working at a young age sheering sheep. In later years he worked as a tile setter, owning his own business, “R & R Tile Service”. Victor always enjoyed working with his hands and did handyman work for many in the community. The past few years, he worked for the Waco ISD in the maintenance department. Victor enjoyed strolling and picking up fallen pecans. He never met a stranger and always had a story and a smile.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Pauline Rogers; son, Victor Ramon Rogers, Jr.; grandson, Randy Rogers; siblings, Victoria Balderas, Betty Martinez, Julian Rogers, Frank Rogers, Toni Lopez, and Nacaria Rogers.

Victor leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 64 years, Theresa Ledesma Rogers of Valley Mills; four children, Ismael Rogers of Robinson, Johnny Rogers, Sr. of Waco, Rudy Rogers and wife, Ester of Waco and Janie Rogers of Valley Mills; siblings, Amelia Balderas and husband, Mingo and Toney Rogers, Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other loving family members.

The Roger’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Wesley Woods Nursing Home and the nurses of Providence Hospice for the many hours of care given to Victor over the last few years.
