Vernon Duane Scheske, 80, of Chalk Bluff, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021
Visitation/Funeral Service: 12 PM – 1PM Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead. The funeral service to follow at 1 PM.
Vernon was born on July 8, 1941 in Detroit, MI to Edward and Linda Scheske. Formal education started at Immanuel Lutheran School in Alpena, MI and continued at Nazareth Lutheran in Detroit, MI. He graduated high school from Mackenzie High in 1959. He attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
Vernon started working at age 11 with a paper route. His career started with Honeywell in 1964 where he became a Senior Systems Representative. He started his own consulting company in 1991 where he worked until a health issue forced retirement in 2006.
Vernon was a member of the Lions Club and of St. Paul Lutheran Church serving as an usher.
He was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Linda Scheske; brothers, Alvin Scheske, Melvin Scheske, and Eldon Scheske; and sister-in-law, Rita Scheske.
He is survived by wife, Janet Scheske; son, Chris Lucas; daughter, Amy Smith and husband Jerome; grandson, Hayden Lee Smith; granddaughters, Taylor Smith, Kaela Smith, and Kyra Lucas; sister-in-law, Karen Ledford and husband Dan; and several nieces and nephews.
