  10. I am so sorry to hear of Verna’s death. She was such a sweet woman and hard working, successful career woman.
In your grieving, I hope these words help “when the body fails, God’s promise does not. Life for her, dad for us.” Our minister said those words at my father’s memorial and it really helped me.
Mandy, your Mom loved her time with you and her family . Know that you were the light of her life and brought her immeasurable happiness.
    Love,
    Laura Lankford

Verna was a very special person and we will miss her greatly. So happy we able to spend some time with her lately. Prayers to you all.

I went to school with Elaine and Verna at China Spring. When I taught Verna piano lessons, as only a schoolgirl myself, I could see then that she was very musically talented. I knew she would grow up to be delightful and beautiful woman, though we sadly didn’t know each other as adults. I lost touch with her after I graduated and went to Baylor. I’m very sad that she is gone far too soon from this world, but I know enough about her, even as a child, that she is gracing heaven as a musical angel. I am so very sorry though for her earthly family. The loss of such a Treasure is so very hard her loved ones. My prayers are with you as you weather such a deep loss. Nancy Yankie Sidarous

  16. Verna was my diabetic Sister. While at work we kept each other motivated and made sure we took our meds. Rest easy beautiful Queen.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Verna. I worked with her years ago when she worked with the City of Waco. She left there and I later talked to her and I really was glad that we got together again. She was such a handful, as she could always make you laugh at some of the dumbest things.
She will be missed by so many people, but she will also be remembered by so many.
My prayers go out to you as her family and I share your loss.

  18. So sorry to hear of Verna’s passing. Verna was sweet, kind and loving lady. We worked at Southwestern Bell together. We ate lunch a lot while working there. We saw each other at Walmart and at Scott and White Clinic. It was always good to talk with her and enjoy her friendship. God bless you all. Carolyn Hall

I was notified by her family that she had past away which to me was unexpectedly. It caught me by surprise to say the least. I wanted to attend the evening visitation, but that is another story. I will say these words of condolence and hope they provide some solace to the grief her family is experiencing at this time. In a lifetime we meet someone who for whatever the reason makes a momentary influence in our lives. My brief contact with this child of God was brief and was from another acquaintance, but we developed a friendship via the ever popular Facebook. Unfortunately sometimes a friendship is short lived, but rest assured her influence will be one of lasting proportions. Kind, warm and the cutest smile with dimples bigger than Houston Texas. Infectious and worth knowing her if for no other purpose than to bring a warm smile to your face. Verna need not worry about tomorrow or from here on out. She is with Adonai Who has healed her pain and suffering with His open arms of LOVE! She exhibited the qualities few ever come to know. A great Faith, A Hope for eternal life and a Love which was everlasting and saw her through her difficult despair. Rest easy little lady and when it is my time, I want to see that infectious smile featuring those world class dimples! God bless you and all who came within her influence. She was one of a kind!

  23. good-bye aunt verna ! you will be missed ! give aunt brenda a hug ! i love you ! misty mongold

So sorry for your loss. Prayers to you all.

  25. I will always miss you kk. One day we will meet again.

  26. My sincere condolences to the family. When someone falls asleep in death (Ecclesiastes 9: 5,10) the memories we have of them become our most precious treasure. May those memories comfort you as well as God’s promise at Isaiah 26:19 of a future, earthly resurrection.

  27. I will always miss my friend from work no one can understand this.

  28. MoM, I miss you always.
