Vanette Wright Aleksic, 81, passed away January 28, 2023. She was born August 14, 1941 near her hometown of Gurdon, Arkansas.
She attended High School at Waukegan High School in Waukegan, Illinois. She graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1963. She spent years in Illinois, Wisconsin, California, Massachusetts, and Arkansas, as well as significant time in France and Vietnam, and most recently in Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jharas Lee (Josh) Wright and Doris (Brown) Wright and many beloved aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her brother, Jerry Lee Wright; son, David Aleksic, and his family; daughter, Simone (Aleksic) Harris, and her family, as well as numerous cousins, extended family, and many dear and lifelong friends.
We thank God for her life. Memorial donations can be made to the Hot Springs Bridge Club: 300 St. Louis Street, Hot Springs, AR, 71913.

Loved you my whole life. Kept the glass horse you gave me in 1984 on my desk for decades and thought of you fondly when I would hold it. You were beauty to me in every way. The first memory I have of tasting sherry in a sauce was at your table. I remember your Christmas tree with real candles on it at your downtown Chicago home. A breath of fresh zeal and inspiration to women everywhere to be stronger, go further.
You were loved deeply by me from afar.
