Terry Eugene Carter was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Eugene and Barbara Jean Carter on November 1, 1955. Terry attended Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, where he accepted Christ at a young age. He participated in various programs at the church as a youth and adult; these included being an usher, attending Vacation Bible School, participating in holiday plays, and most recently providing Sunday morning church pickup service for the elderly and disabled prior to COVID-19.

Terry attended J.H. Hines Elementary, G.L. Wiley Jr. High School, and graduated from A.J. Moore High School in 1974. Throughout his adolescence, Terry was very active in sports, playing baseball, basketball, and football. After graduating high school, Terry received a baseball scholarship with Ranger Junior College, where he played for two years before transferring to Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. His adult career began with Central Freight Lines for several years, and he later obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree at Video Technical Institute in Electronics Technology. His experience as a Master Control Operator allowed him to live and work in Miami, Florida; Ontario, California; and Waco, Texas, where he retired with KXXV-TV News Channel 25, Telemundo of Waco, KRHD ABC 40, and 25 Weather Now.

Terry met the love of his life, Wilhelmina Victoria Victor, late in life, but he knew she was the one to capture his heart. They were married at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church by his father, Rev. Eugene Carter, and had been together for 27 years until his sunset.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Carter and Barbara Jean Carter, and his sister, Lisa E. Carter King. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Wilhelmenia “Vicky”; stepson Nathaniel L. Thompson; sister Carmen “Candy” Carter; nieces Erica Nicole King and Dana Byrd; nephews Christopher Scott King and Tyrone Wright; along with a host of cousins and devoted friends.
