Stephanie Noel (Black) Ramsey

Stephanie Noel (Black) Ramsey, 54, of Waco, passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer on September 9, 2021, in Waco, TX.

Service Information: A memorial service will be held at Rosemound Cemetery, 3201 S 12th Street in Waco, on Saturday, September 25 at 10:00 am.

Stephanie was born on November 3, 1966 in Englewood, NJ to John and Anna Black and big sister, Lorri. She was affectionately nicknamed “Tiger” by her dad. Stephanie gave her life to Jesus at the age of 8 at Henderson Street Baptist Church in Cleburne, TX. She found solace and joy in her faith in Jesus throughout her life. Stephanie was incredibly proud to be the grandmother to Corie and Elijah and mother to Randy and Rachel. She was a devoted, caring, and loving mom, meemee, daughter, and sister. Stephanie moved back to Waco in 2019 and was active in her life group and worship at Antioch Community Church. That fierce tenacity by which she was nicknamed propelled her to work hard the last few years of her life to earn an Associate’s Degree from Colorado Christian University, and she was just 2 courses short of completing her Bachelor’s Degree when she had to turn that same tenacity to fighting cancer.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Black. She is survived by her son, Randy Ramsey; daughter, Rachel Cortez, and son-in-law, Leo Cortez; her grandchildren, Corie Ramsey and Elijah Cortez; and her sisters, Lorri Sapp and Hannah Garcia. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

Memorial gifts may be sent in Stephanie’s memory to Antioch Community Church, 505 North 20th Street, Waco, TX 76707.
