On Sunday, March 2, 2025, the Angel of Peace touched SIDNEY, our beloved Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He fell asleep in the “Arms of the All Mighty, our God” the creator of all things.

Visitation: 6-8PM Friday, March 14, 2025 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Service: 12PM Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. 2814 South 12th St. Waco, TX 76705

SIDNEY LAMAR RICE, also known as “Black” was born to the union of Carrel Jr and Thelma Rice on September 7, 1979. Sidney attended LaVega High School and also attended MCC to recieve his Business Degree.

SIDNEY loved building fences, and especially telling you how to build the fence. He loved cooking his special beans and spending time with the children as much as he could. He would give you his last if he truly knew you needed it.

SIDNEY is preceded in death by his grandfathers and grandmothers, William Sr. and Velma Jones and Augusta Rice and Carrel Rice, Sr., His Aunts; Alma Faye McClellan and Robin Renee Richardson, Marsha Rice, Aunt Lorene, Effie Stingley and his Uncles; William Wood, Uncle Bubba, Luther Earl Rice, Robert Leonard Rice, Donnie Louis Rice, Charles Wesley Jones and Gregory Lee Jones. He is also with his other family and friends who have gone way too soon.

Left to cherish his loving memory, his son, Kayden Rice; his long time girl and friend, Tarshia McKinney; his mother and father, Carrel Jr and Thelma Rice; his brothers Terry Jones, Carrel Rice III, Delvon Rice and T’Dric Rice along with his Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Close Friends.
