Shirley Jean Millsaps

Shirley Millsaps

Shirley Jean Millsaps, 67, of Waco, went home to meet the Lord on October 28, 2016, after a long illness, surrounded by her family.

Shirley fought her illness to the very end. She loved life and her family dearly. The highlight of her life was her daughter Stacy and her three grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Heart of Texas Cowboy Church as her church was very special to her. Shirley was a true testament of God’s faith and strength that helped family and friends during her own illness.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Larry Bates; her parents, William and Jewell Curry; her sister, Billie Reese; and her nephew, Mike Reese.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Stacy Galle and husband, Jay of Lacy Lakeview; brother, Jimmy Curry and wife, Joyce of Woodway; sister, Bonnie Crelia of Hewitt; brother, Johnny Curry and wife, Beth of Forney; her grandchildren, Chelsea McDuff, Devin McDuff and McKenzie McDuff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Providence Health Center’s ICU Department, Providence Hospice, Wesley Woods Health and Rehabilitation and to the many doctors and nurses that helped her through her illness.
