Sheri Lynn Price, 50, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Monday, May 12, 2014.

Visitation: 4-6 PM, Saturday, May 17 @ Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend Dr, Waco

Funeral Service: 3 PM, Sunday, May 18 @ Lake Shore Funeral Home with Burial to follow in Bosqueville Cemetery

Sheri was born May 7, 1964 to Jerry and Nancy (Kiser) Owens in Arlington, and grew up in Brownsboro, Texas. She was united in marriage to Johnny Price on October 22, 1983 in Edom, Texas. They then moved to Waco to set down roots and begin to raise their family, and have been a part of the community for 25 years.

Sheri took great pride in her family- they were her heart and soul!  Her greatest joy was devoting her time and attention to her loving husband Johnny, her children, Savannah and Luke, as well as their spouses, Shane and Elizabeth, and her two granddaughters, Leah and Shyanne.

Sheri was a very talented individual, especially in writing and singing. She gave up a career in country music, preferring instead to spend the most important years of her life with her children, and becoming a superstar mom, “shemaw”, and wife. She was the sunshine of their life as well. Her wonderful sense of humor and wit were appreciated and enjoyed by all who knew her. She had an unwavering faith in God, was a member of the Church of Tree Lake, and is no doubt waiting for our reunion in Heaven. Sheri’s spirit, joy, and talents will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry G. Owens.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Johnny Price; daughter Savannah Lynn Cates, and husband, Shane; son, Luke Price, and wife, Elizabeth; precious granddaughters, Leah Elizabeth Price and Shyanne Lynn Cates; brother, Jerry Owens, Jr.; and mother, Nancy Owens.

Memorials in memory of Sheri Lynn Price may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.

“One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.” Psalms 27:4-5

Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708

Condolence from Arnie & Patsy Adams on May 17th, 2014 9:43 pm

Johnny and Kids:
Sheri will always live in our hearts as someone we loved very much, And she .seemed to have a special kind of love for Patsy and me,. She always confided in us and she was a joy to be around. Her talent as a singer and song writer, had she chosen that path, would have taken her far in the entertainment field. We all lost a wonderful, beautiful, and loving lady from this world, but I’m sure that the Lord had a special place prepared for her and she’s there now experiencing untold “joy”.

Condolence from Arnie & Patsy Adams on May 17th, 2014 10:29 pm

Johnny and Kids:
Sheri was a ladies’ lady. She was a very loving person and needed much love. She was one of my favorite people.
Patsy and I spent lots of time with her over the years, on the phone and in person. She was always a delight to be around. You could certainly tell that she loved you and her kids and grand kids. Had she pursued a career in music, she would have gone far. It was a pleasure to hear her sing and to sing with her at church and I’m sure you remember “Branson on the Brazos”. (Sheri is having a great time right now in the presence of the Lord!!)

Condolence from James and Patricia Lassetter on May 18th, 2014 11:40 am

Johnny and Family,

Our hearts are saddened at your loss and we grieve with you at this time. May our Lord and Savior gather you all in his loving arms and comfort you. When you find yourselves in a moment of weakness may He send His Angels to watch over you and the Holy Spirit to guide you through.
Jeremiah 1: 1-3
The word of The Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations. When I was made in secret and skillfully wrought… Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Sheri will be missed – all our love and prayers to you and the family.

Condolence from Larry and Pam Garrett on May 18th, 2014 11:52 am

Johnny and family, we are very sorry for the loss of your sweet Sheri. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence from Patti Clemente on May 18th, 2014 7:07 pm

It seems like not so long ago when Cortni was the candle lighter at your wedding. Now 30 years have passed and we lost our beautiful blond girls. Chad Sandy and I talked about the beautiful service on the way to Athens. It was so personal and heartfelt. Not like those where the preacher goes on and on and he never even met you. That was so special and beautiful just like Sheri. She loved my daughter my mother and we loved her. God bless all as the healing process begins . Your cuz, Patti

Condolence from John Bryant on January 14th, 2018 8:26 pm

I played drums for Sheri when she lived in Ky.
I had no idea this had happened until doing a
search trying to locate her. Was hoping she
was still interested in doing something with
the music. She will be missed beyond belief
By me. Rest In Peace my sweet friend.
