Sharon Fredeck Stapleton, 72, passed away July 15, 2021

Service Information:  If you would like to come pay your respects, family will be at Lake Shore Funeral Home from 6-8pm on July 22, 2021.

How do you explain a woman who was a different person to everyone she knew? She somehow always knew just how to say the right words or give the right hugs when you needed her. Sharon Fredeck Stapleton was a woman like no other. She grew up in Sweetwater Texas with her Mother, Father and brother. She moved away to go to college, got married and moved to Montana where she fell in love with Native American culture and their way of living. She always said that’s where her soul was happiest. From then on she tried to incorporate the simpler way of life into her daily world.  Eventually she moved back to Texas and remarried. They moved to Waco in the 70’s and thats’s where she has resided to this day. She worked for 30+ years for Accucast where she devoted her time to helping customers. She has two beautiful daughters whom she loved with her whole heart. There was nothing more precious to her than her family and her animals. She was a lifetime horse and animal lover. She devoted many years of her life to helping kids and horses with Campfire Boys and Girls as well as the Val Verde Riding program.

Sharon was 72 years young when she passed away. She is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Fredeck, and mother, Dolores Fredeck. She is survived by her daughter Chonna Colbert and her husband (who was her son by her standards) Zachariah Colbert. Her grandson and partner Dylan-12, grandson Ryder-6 and her two beautiful granddaughters Serenity-17 and Callie-10.

She is also survived by her youngest daughter Ravon Morgan, her husband Kris Morgan and their children Ty-16, Tobin-11, and Tanner-9. She loved them all more than words could express.

She is also survived by her brother Don Fredeck, nephews Shane and Ryan Fredeck as well as by friends who are family Joe and Kathy O’Donnell.

Sharon was a simple woman who was mother to all she met whether you wanted her to be or not. She didn’t always do everything right, but she didn’t judge, she didn’t hold grudges, and until the day she died, she gave everything she had to everyone around her. She truly loved everyone with her whole heart.

My Dearest Friend of many years.
I meet her (Through Telephone @ her work and mine) I always asked for her as she had the most pretties’ voice. I would order material and she would always had the materials shipped quickly. Sometimes I would just call and chit chat so I could hear her voice. Loved her accent. As we would talk she would bring up stories about her Daddy being in the Marines. She would talk so much about Daddy and his adventures. Then she told me about Daddy was part of the invading force’s liberation of GUAM. On this date 76 years ago. I told her that her Daddy was instrumental in saving the lives in GUAM. I lost a lot of my family through the occupation. We were so excited we were in tears that we had a connection.

Throughout the years we were very great friends. My only regret was we never met in person. I loved her as we would talk about her Chona, Zachariah, Dylan, Ryder and her beautiful horses. We talked about the boys would have movie night and what’s for dinner and who was cooking. I could hear her excitement in her voice. The last time we talked she told me how much she loved me and would calm me down from my PTSD and encouraged me to be stronger and when my next counseling session was and asked me about it. My dear friend had such a tremendous heart, and soul. I’m going to miss her deeply.

I know I will celebrate her birthday in March, as a way of remembering her knowing I can now talk to her all the time. I will miss my dear friends’ voice and conversations.

  9. Sharon is the best customer service rep in our waterworks industry that I had the privilege of working with the past 30years. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

    Dearest Ravon, Chonna & Family,
Our heart breaks for your loss of your sweet Momma. Throughout the years I always enjoyed seeing Sharon & getting to chat a minute. Remembering back to the Camp Val Verde days.. never worried because Sharon always took the vehicle keys from all you kids 🙂 ! I wish for you to reflect on the wonderful times you had with your Momma/Grandma & know we are thinking of you all.
    With love & hugs,
    Dawn & Mike
