Sam Stinson

Stinson(1)

Wiley Samuel “Sam” Stinson was born March 28, 1943, in Kosse to Jack and Marguerite Kay Stinson. He peacefully departed this life on April 5, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.

Visitation: 5-7PM Thursday, April 10 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Service: 10AM Friday, April 11 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial: 2PM Mt. Tabor Cemetery

Born during the Second World War, Sam was just a few months old when his father returned from Europe to meet him for the first time. As the eldest of six children, Sam shared a life of love and camaraderie with his siblings. He attended various schools across Concord, Houston, and Bremond, forming cherished memories along the way.

In 1968, Sam married the love of his life, Kathy Harris. Together, they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage until Kathy’s passing in 2016. Their union was blessed with two children, Connie and Jeff, and an enduring legacy of love.

Sam’s passion for automobiles began at a young age, working alongside his father at dealerships and repair shops in Houston and Waco. His talent and dedication led him to open his own business, Bo’s Auto Service, in Bellmead in 1978. With the support of his brothers, Sam built the shop behind his home, and it became a cornerstone of his career until his retirement around 2010.

A man of deep faith, Sam was a founding member and devoted board member of the Church of The Redeemed. He found joy in serving his Lord Jesus by helping others, always embodying kindness and humility.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marguerite Stinson; beloved wife, Kathy; brother, Roger Stinson; and nephew, Corey Stinson.

He is survived by his children, Connie Schulze, and Jeff Stinson (Jennifer); “adopted” daughter, Sherry Seay; grandchildren, Christopher, Alex, Connor, Erin and Bella; his sisters, Marla Stinson and Sandra VanWinkle (Mickey); brothers, Jack Stinson (Mary Ann) and David Stinson (Robin); sister-in-law, Pat Stinson; and a large extended family of loved ones who will miss him dearly.

Active Pallbearers will be Connor Stinson, Alex Gallegos, Michael Sadler, Todd Meyer, Wayne Stinson, and James Stinson.  Honorary Pallbearers are William Moehlmann, Travis Hendricks, Steven Stinson, Johnny Sadler, Rusty Stinson, and Jamie Stinson.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Ascension Living Providence Village for their professional care and concern.
