Ruth A. Davis, 66, of China Spring, passed away Saturday, December 7th at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10AM Wednesday, December 11th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Tuesday, December 10th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Ruth was born January 25, 1947 in Hillsboro and attended Hillsboro schools. She married Jerry Davis on December 18, 1965 in Hillsboro. They moved to Waco in 1970 and then to the China Spring area in 2000. She worked for Waco ISD and China Spring ISD, retiring in 2008 after 26 years of combined school service. She loved being around students; so after retirement, she continued to work driving a school bus up until her death. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, traveling, and her roses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Doris (Ramsey) Worth; and brother, Jerry Worth.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Jerry Davis; daughters, Alisha Moore and husband Keith of Katy, and Trisha Harrell and husband Charles of China Spring; son, Jeffry Davis of Bedford; grandsons, Joshua, Brady, Travis, and Jacob West; granddaughters, Taylor and Macy Moore, and Maddie and Mackenzie Harrell; one great grandson, Jayden Moore; sister, Joy Hatcher and husband Don of Leander; and beloved sister-in-law, Joyce Lillard of Waco.

Pallbearers will be Joshua West, Brady West, Travis West, Jacob West, Charles Harrell, and Tim Talbert.

Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.

When we think of Miss Ruth we think Roses! She loved her Roses! 🙂 We remember looking out our kitchen window some summer nights and she would be working away in her garden and later would get told she was up til 2-3 o’clock in the morning!
