Russell Dwayne Richards, Sr., 76, of Robinson passed away Sunday November 21, 2021. He will be cremated at Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco, TX with a private family memorial at a later date.

Russell was born in Waterloo, IA November 06, 1945, to Gaylord and Martha Rice Richards. He graduated from La Porte City High School in La Porte City, IA. Russell enlisted in the army where he served honorably from 1963 to 1966. He received an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, IA.

Russell and his first wife, Rebecca Odom, had three children, Tamatha, Teresa and Russell, Jr. He then married Ruth Ann Harkness in 1973 and together they had three children, Jonathan, Keith, and Ryan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry; sisters, Carolyn, and Jackie; and great-grandson, Isaiah.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Harkness Richards, all of his children, Tamatha Shumate (Dennis McLendon), Teresa Owenby (Tim), Russell Richards, Jr. (Nita), Jonathan Richards (Amanda), Keith Richards, and Ryan Richards; sister,  Rosie; brother, Harvey Hodges (Moni), brothers-in-law, Ken Harkness (Elena), Tony Harkness (Kay), Joe Harkness, Rob Harkness, and David Harkness (Deb); sisters-in-law, Lorraine McFarland (Darryl) and Doris Parker (Bruce); 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and those adopted by the heart, Jason, Lacretia, Trinity and Autumn.
