Ruby Frances Spitzer

Ruby Frances Spitzer, 92, of China Spring, was reunited in Heaven with her husband on June 10, 2018.

Visitation: 5:30-7:30pm Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Graveside Service: 10:00am, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Frances was born February 28, 1926, to Vera Glaze and Cecil Warren.    She grew up in the community of Speegleville alongside three brothers, Cecil Warren, Jr., Homer Warren and baby brother, Billy D. Warren.   She married Nelson Spitzer February 18, 1944 and together they made the purchase of their first tractor, a 1944 Farmall.

Together, Frances and Nelson ventured down many different paths together, from farming to owning their own business, Valley View Grocery.   Trips of fishing, camping and playing dominoes with friends and families always led to very interesting stories and laughter.    They both were charter members of Western Heights Baptist Church; her faith never ventured.

Memories of her mother will be cherished by her daughter, Sherry Pitts and husband, Ed; her one and only grandson, Dusty Pitts and Sandra Kampa; brother, Billy D. Warren and wife, Jerri; special friend, Vergie Buckner; extended family, Marissa and Tony Byers and Abel and Halston Reyna; the little ones she called her precious babies, Barron Byers and Nate Reyna; a very special group of nieces and nephews; and her lap companions, Hurley and Peanut.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors who never gave up on Mom and listened when we told them “Only God and Mom knew when it was going to be her time to join Dad in Heaven”; Senior Care of Hewitt; Carol Kizer and Dick Spitzer and all the others for looking in on Mom and letting her know she was still important; Gaye Fox and Providence Hospice.  There are no words of gratitude that can be found to express our appreciation.

Mom will be dearly missed by all.

  5. Sherry I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom I thought of her as a friend. She was a wonderful person who was always making the people around her feel welcome. I worked with her until she retired from the school and I remember the next school year it was like a part of my world was missing. She will be so welcomed in heaven by Nelson and God.
