Ross E. Pilant, 79, of Riesel passed away Monday, June 3rd at a local hospital. Memorial services will be 6PM Thursday, June 13th at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead with Pastor Walter Albers and Pastor Andrew Byars officiating. Ross was born January 14, 1934 in Thornton to Clyde and Leona (Moody) Pilant. He married Ruth Meurer on October 17, 1949. He retired from Huck Manufacturing in Waco in August 2000. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include wife , Ruth Pilant of Riesel; daughters, Jerri Minshew and husband Ed of Georgetown, and Tracy Pilant and husband Johnny Ferguson of Riesel; five grandchildren; and brothers, Ray Pilant and wife Jane of Louisiana, John Pilant and wife Mary of San Angelo, Calvin Pilant of San Antonio, and Joe Pilant of Louisiana.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Minshew, Johnny Ferguson, Ethan Minshew and Elliott Minshew.

The family would like to acknowledge special thanks to Regent Care and Providence Hospice for their professional care and concern.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel.

    Ross was a true gentleman in every sense. We first met Ross when we were starting our business Mackie Business Forms. He was a big part in helping us get a start and remained loyal to us until his retirement. We hold him in high regard. He was one of a kind. God Bless you Ross.
