Roger 1

Roger Dale Thomison of Gatesville passed from this earthly plane March 17, 2023 at the age of 66.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Roger was born January 2, 1957 to Margarette Emma (Penny) Blanton and W.C. Thomison Jr in Woodville, TX.

Roger worked in construction most of his life, certified on and operated every type of equipment available for many years with Young Brother’s and H&B Construction. As a child, Roger loved spending time in the woods and throughout his life he would enjoy time hunting, fishing, camping and eating a good steak. Roger never dwelt on the yesterdays or tomorrows but lived his life in the present moment. Roger loved to travel and wanted to see the world. He was known to travel all over the US making friends in every place he visited. The last few years of his life, Roger found his lifelong companion/best friend, his dog Shorty, who he adored. Roger and Shorty were inseparable and if you saw Roger, you were sure to see Shorty, even when enjoying a motorcycle ride.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, W.C. Thomison Jr.

Roger is survived by his parents, Margarette and Royce Blanton of China Spring; two sons, Rodney Thomison of Huntsville and Jason (Jay) Turco of Barryville, NY; two sisters, Judy and husband, Richard (Rickey) Taylor of McGregor and Margaret (Margie) and husband, John Burns of China Spring.
