Robert Wayne Smotherman, 78, of Woodway passed away August 12, 2015.

Memorial Service: Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Wayne was an amazing man. He was an awesome husband, father, brother, father-in-law, Grandpa, Paw Paw, uncle and friend.
Wayne worked in the oilfield for many years before transitioning into the hospitality industry and retired in 2010. He was a great hand while in the oil & gas industry, and with his outgoing personality and “gift of gab” he excelled in the hospitality industry. He never met a stranger and also had a knack for making friends. He always looked for the best in everyone. Wayne will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Smotherman; father, Joseph “Buck” Smotherman; mother, Margaret Nebgen Smotherman; and sister, Pat Smotherman Miller.

Wayne is survived by his son, Bruce Smotherman along with his wife Annette of Katy, TX and son, Justin Smotherman of Lafayette, La; daughter, Kim Garvin and husband Van along with their son Eli, of Waco, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to his nephew Kenny Ray Morgan Jr. and to caregiver Angel Cato for their love and care during his final days.
