Richard James Quade, 80, of Chalk Bluff, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at a Temple hospital. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18th from 6 to 7:30 PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Richard was born June 27, 1932 in Douglas, Michigan to Lewis and Mildred (Brown) Quade. He served his country with the U.S. Army. After retiring as owner of Douglas L.P. Gas Company in Michigan, Mr. Quade moved to Waco in 1996 and married Beverly Cox. He was a member of The Dutcher Masonic Lodge, The Saugatuck Township Fire Department and was a past President of the School Board in Douglas, Michigan. He became a devoted fan of the Baylor Lady Bears in Waco.

Survivors include wife, Beverly Cox-Quade; his children, Debra Quade and Rich Quade; stepchildren; Barry Cox and wife Alicia, Bart Cox and wife Kaylyn, and Beth Cox-Cain; grandchildren; Jeremy Bussies and wife Jennifer, Trevor Bussies and wife Melissa, Jason Quade and wife Yanet; step-grandchildren; Tommy, Beverly Rose, Brittany, Colby, Chelsea, Taylor, Taryn and Whitney; great grandchildren; Jordan, Kyan, Noah, Brady and Carter Bussies, Kristen and Brielle Quade; and brother; Philip Quade.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Fuzzy Friends Rescue of Waco.
