Richard “Pooh” Gonzales Alonso was born and raised in Waco and was well known by many. He was a graduate of University High School where he played football and was dubbed the nick-name “Pooh Bear”. He continued to be an avid fan of football but also had a passion for cooking. After many years working as a restaurant manager, he changed direction and was employed by Trane Technologies. Richard will be remembered as a good man, better father, and hard worker who never gave up. He was a wise man who always gave to others, an amazing cook, could make you smile with his kindness, and laugh with his crude sense of humor. Richard was a family man who loved his children dearly and his favorite pastime was being with family and friends. He will truly be missed and definitely not be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Donald Alonso; paternal grandparents, John D. Alonso and Rose G. Alonso; maternal grandparents, Donato Gonzales and Delfina R. Gonzales; aunts, Sophia Ramos and Cindy DeLeon; and uncle, Rodrigo Gonzales.
