Reverend Gene Moore, 78, went to his heavenly reward September 27, 2008 at his home in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 10AM Monday, September 29th at First United Methodist Church in Waco with Rev. Wayne Stork, Rev. Stephen Ramsdell, and Rev. Dick Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Rev. Moore will be available for viewing starting at 2 PM Sunday. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the on-line Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com.
Gene Austin Moore was born September 18, 1930 in Ropesville, Texas, to Reverend Austin Theopolis and Johnnie (Skaggs) Moore. Gene spent his life serving the Lord in the ministry. He was a member or the Northwest Texas Conference in his early career. He was the pastor of several churches in the Waco area, a member of the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and the National Association of United Methodist Evangelist. He graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. There he met Bobbie Seago and they married April, 25, 1953. They were both involved in music and recorded seven albums and were involved in radio and television. They had as their statement of faith,

Bill and I thought so much of Bro. Gene. We are so proud of having the opportuity of having him as our Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Crawford while Kent was serving his country. He was a great inspiration. Bobbie our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and we love all of you. Also tell Sue thanks for keeping us always updated.

I know words can not express your loss. But I have seen the strength and love you have in your heart and that will help you through the days. May the Lord be with you and your family. I greatly admire you, Bobbie, and you have my greatest sympathy.
Wish I had known. Gene and Bobbie baptized my precious granddaughter, Jasmine Mott, 18 years ago at a church in Speegleville when the then pastor at First Methodist refused to. After the baptism I was glad the two of you performed the ceremony–you both sang and the whole thing was beautiful and meaningful. I will always remember his beautiful voice and wonderful spirit. Bobbie, you and Gene are forever in my heart.
It is with much heaviness of heart that we have learned of the death of our very dear friend Gene Moore. Our prayers and condolences to Bobbie and kids.

I will always have such fond memories of you & Gene parked in the parking lot at Crestview after lunch laughing and enjoying life with one another in that cute little car. Your love for one another was truely a testament to your faith and the wonderful people that you are.
