Rebecca Mobley

Rebecca Lynn Mobley, 65, of Prairie Hill, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple

Graveside Service: 1:45 p.m. Friday, December 4, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston for a small group of family and friends

Rebecca (Becky) was born June 5, 1955 in Wharton, Texas to Douglas and Jerry Meyer, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Richard, of 35 years of marriage; and her son, Shawn Mountgordon and wife, Hilary. She is also survived by brothers, Allan Meyer and Keith Meyer and wife, Cherie.

Becky was raised in Houston and traveled extensively with her family as a child. As she got older her love of travel never waned as she expanded her horizons to Mexico and nearly every European country as well as cruising the Caribbean. No matter where she was, Becky never met a stranger. She would strike up a conversation with whomever was next to her and was always genuinely interested in their story. She loved learning and living life to the fullest and when she wasn’t out “doing” she was home reading about and planning her next adventure.

She and Richard were married on December 14, 1985 and lived in Deer Park until 1991 when they moved to Prairie Hill where they raised Emus for many years. Becky was interested in just about everything and had many hobbies including socializing, sewing, crotchet, road-trips to visit family, collecting various nick-nacks, and gardening. She was also an avid reader and devoted woman of faith.Becky was an active member of the Coolidge United Methodist Church, Coolidge Garden Club and volunteered at area nursing homes to bring comfort to the patients. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother who never tired of caring for her family and friends. Becky was loved by all and will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, generous and loving soul, her unwavering faith and kind heart.

Those wishing to remember her with a memorial contribution might consider St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
