Paul Daniel “Danny” Smith

Paul Daniel Smith, 71, of Waco, passed away Friday, August 31 surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born on September 13, 1946 in Waco.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynn Smith; son, Paul J. Smith of Waco; daughter and son-in-law Karla and Paul Robinson of Dallas; sister, Helen Messer of Houston; 2 grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, May and Paul Smith; two brothers and one sister; and daughter, Chanda Smith-Green.

He worked many years for Waco Transit driving a city bus. He worked for the VA Regional Office for 18 years and was also a veteran. He drove a tour bus for 7 years and was fortunate to be selected to drive a bus in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Eugene, Oregon.

He loved his family and his sister with all his heart. He loved working with his friends at the Waco Transit and the V A Regional office. He loved to drive the tour bus and go to Marksville. He will be greatly missed.

  4. I worked at the Waco VA Regional office with Mr Smith. I am also a member of the ” You Are Worthy Ministry.” The ministry visit a local nursing home to minister to residents unable to attend church on Sundays.
    Mr Smith was a resident for a short period of time at this Nursing Home. I would drop in on him to take him fruit and do prayer with him.
    I got to meet Mrs. Smith when Mr Paul was a patient at Providence Hospital.
    Mr Smith was a very nice …kind…and caring person.
    He will be missed
