“I ain’t Skeerd,” are the words Andy Haggard followed until his journey here on earth ended. God ask Andy to join him in heaven on April 23, 2022, following a celebration with friends and family in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Funeral Services: will follow at 2pm at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. CLICK HERE to view the Live Stream of the service. Masonic services and interment will be at Waco Memorial Park following the funeral service.

Paul (Andy) Andrew Haggard was born in Prescott, Arkansas the son of John Paul and Margaret Haggard and brother of Ann Haggard. Andy was an outstanding football player for Springwood High School in Houston, Texas and was offered several scholarships. He went on to attend and play football for Navarro Jr. College and Southeastern Oklahoma State. However, providing support for family became more important.  He was a master electrician and florist, before becoming the co-founder of Construction Force.  Andy Haggard was a self-taught entrepreneur.

He was a Mason and a member of Karem Shrine where he passionately participated in transporting children to Shriner’s Hospital for treatment. “Your own acts of kindness and charity toward all mankind will serve as the best example for others who might otherwise be less considerate of their fellowmen.”   He served as an officer for Karem Shrine and was a past Colonel of the Motor Escorts. Continuously enjoying the camaraderie of his brothers.

Andy’s favorite form of transportation was his Harley trike.   Make no mistake “I ain’t skeerd” applied to the trip he was about to take each time he cranked her.   It was always balls to the wall and Hwy 6 including twin bridges always served as his own personal racetrack.

Andy could be described as a man that loved with his heart and soul, would give anyone anything if needed, willful, dedicated, loyal, passionate. Goals Andy wanted to accomplish became missions. His determination to complete these missions may not be accomplished in the way everyone thought it should be done, but if Andy believed it was needed and would serve purpose it got done.   Again, “I ain’t skeerd.”  Andy’s smile lit up the room and encouraged others to smile around him.  His laughter bounced off the walls becoming contagious. A gentle giant that was not afraid to laugh at himself, encouraging others to join in. Hearing Andy’s voice on the other end of a phone call saying, “Hay Man” and know he was saying those words with a tremendous smile immediately caused you to smile back.  He was not afraid to cry, sharing his heart and soul with the world.  REAL is the best word to describe Andy Haggard.

To his brothers, extended family, and friends Andy Haggard, led by example. Leaving behind a legacy of love and will dearly missed by all.

Andy was proceeded in death by his mother, father and sister.  Sandy Haggard his wife of 40 years.

Andy’s missions here on earth will be carried on by his wife and soul mate Connie Haggard, best friend and daughter Sam Smith, daughter Tabitha, their children and grandchildren along with children and grandchildren.  Along with numerous extended families, brothers and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Andy would appreciate donations being sent to Karem Shrine Transportation Fund 400 Karem Circle, Waco Texas 76710.  In memory of Andy Haggard, and his continuing mission of transporting children to Shriner’s Hospital for treatment.

Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708

  2. Andy was one of the best. He did an outstanding job running the Karem Transportation program. I always enjoyed speaking with him either by phone or at the Karem office. We often discussed the patients we had carried to the hospital. It is very unfortunate that such a good man was taken so early in live. I know Andy still had much to do.

  3. Edward Williams

Andy and I were friendly in high school but ran in different circles. The one commonality we had was football, a sport I was uncommonly terrible at. One day the ‘B’ squad was used as canon fodder for the JV and my assignment was to block the man-mountain know as Andy Haggard. I was skeered. I hit that boy as hard as I could and only managed to teeter him enough to fall on my knee, spraining it. That ended my season and football career, and I am forever grateful to Andy for that. I got to tell him of his unrealized heroism at our 50th reunion and had a good laugh. I think I laughed the hardest when he said he renembered that I sucked. Godspeed, Andy.

  11. To Andy’s family:
I was a classmate of Andy’s in high school and remember him as just a friendly big ‘ole Teddy Bear. Everyone loved him. I was sad to hear of his passing yesterday. Sounds like he packed in alot in his 60 something years, had a great family and was loved by many. The tribute video brought tears to my eyes. May God comfort you in your time of grief and may your great memories of him live on.

  12. Andy and I met when I was in 8th grade and the kids from the Sherwood Oaks neighborhood transferred over to Spring Woods Jr. High. We were friends and played football together all through high school. I did not know Andy as well or spend as much time with him as some of our other friends/classmates/teammates, but I did stay in touch with, and see Andy at times and in places throughout the years, most recently at our Spring Woods High School 1971 Class 50-year reunion. Andy was a kind spirited soul who had a loving, fun-loving, funny, and self-deprecating way about him. I always enjoyed talking with and being around Andy. I will miss Andy very much.
