Patsy (Tumlinson) Adams, 79, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025 after battling pancreatic cancer. A private burial with immediate family will be held in her honor. A public celebration of her life will be held at Tree Lake Baptist Church (aka The Church at Tree Lake) in the Erath building on January 18th at 1 pm.
Born June 19, 1945, in Gonzales, Texas, Patsy was the cherished daughter of Fred and Ruth Tumlinson. She found love with Arnold Adams Jr. during a dance while he was stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas. After moving from Texas and around in the state of Florida for 15 years, they moved back to Texas and settled in the Bosqueville area of Waco, where they have lived for over 45 years. They were blessed to have celebrated their 60th year anniversary before her passing.
A devoted member of her church, Patsy often helped organize and assist with church events. She cherished her family time, particularly with the girls, whether they were shopping, dining, decorating, or simply enjoying each other’s company. She took great joy in spending time with and spoiling her great-grandchildren, always eager to shower them with affection and attention. Her love extended to traveling, visiting distant relatives, and joining her husband on his music events.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ruth Tumlinson, and her first-born daughter Shelly Adams, who tragically passed-away days after birth. Patsy leaves behind a loving family: her husband, Arnold Adams Jr.; daughter Paula Patterson and her husband Daun; son Arnie Adams III and his wife Kit; grandson Jonathon Holt and his wife Tanya; granddaughter Dixie Murdock and her husband Derek; granddaughter Keely Patterson and fiancé Mark Pate; her great-grandchildren Ryder Patterson, Hunter Murdock, Scarlett Pate, and Emberlee Murdock; and her cherished nephew Eric Tumlinson.
Patsy’s memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her warmth, generosity, and enduring spirit.

Aunt Patsy always lit up a room with her presence. The joy of seeing her always showing up for big events in my life will forever be cherished. She always came with a camera in her hand ready to forever save memories for others. Not to mention how beautiful and well dressed, ( She definitely took after her momma!) She put so much love into her family and filled us with it in return 💕
So sorry to hear this news. She was a great lady. Prayers to all her family.
