Pastor Rudy Ramirez Herrera, Sr., 57, of Waco, Texas, peacefully entered the presence of our Lord and Savior on January 2, 2025.
A graveside burial will take place at 10:30AM on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Elm Mott Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 AM at Iglesia Rios de Agua Viva in Waco, Texas.
Born on August 1, 1967, in Fort Worth, Texas, Pastor Rudy was the beloved son of Rev. Manuel Herrera, Sr. and Pastora Angelita Ramirez Herrera. Raised in a devoted Christian home, he dedicated his life to the Lord at the age of 30. His ministry journey began two years later, culminating in 2021 when he stepped into the role of pastor, continuing the legacy established by his father and guided by faith.
Throughout his life, Rudy was known for his skills as a cement finisher, contributing to the family business from the age of 15 until 50. He also enjoyed painting residential interiors, showcasing his craftsmanship until his final moments. His wife, Rosalinda, fondly referred to him as a “Jack of all Trades and a Master of the Word of God.”
Rudy cherished spending time with his family and loved taking trips together. He leaves behind an enduring impact, having given those around him the opportunity to pray with him, express their love, and say their goodbyes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Manuel Herrera, Sr. and Angelita Herrera; siblings Janie Herrera, Albert Herrera, Sr., and Rev. Debbie Ann Herrera Olivo; and his goddaughter and niece, Ashley Marie Herrera, along with his great-niece, Amor Esperanza Zuniga.
Pastor Rudy is survived by his devoted wife, Rosalinda Herrera, with whom he shared 38 ¾ years of marriage; his children, Rudy Alexander Herrera, Jr. and Carmen-Eulalia Katy Herrera; grandchildren Makenzie-Ariana Rosalyn Brown and Terence Bernard “BJ” Whitaker, Jr.; eight siblings; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and eight godchildren.
In his memory, let us remember the words of Matthew 5:8: “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”
