Bill Coleman

BillLead Funeral Director & Embalmer

I am a lifelong resident of Waco and lifetime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Waco.

I graduated from Richfield High School in 1981. I began working part time for Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home while attending MCC. Later, I enrolled at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and graduated in 1983 gaining my Funeral Director and Embalmer’s License. I returned to Waco and began working for Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home serving as a Funeral Director & Embalmer there until 1989.

Additionally, I am a graduate of the Texas Tech School of Applied Banking as well as a graduate of the General Motors Dealer’s College. A career change afforded me the opportunity to serve as Senior Vice-President at the Texas National Bank of Waco from 1989 through 1999 and then as Co-Owner/Dealer of the Coleman Autoplex Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick & GMC dealership in Gatesville until 2007 when I sold the business. I then returned to serving Waco area families as Executive Funeral Director & Partner at the OakCrest and Grace Gardens Funeral Homes of Waco until 2014. I then went on to serve as a Funeral Director for Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors of Houston until 2015. During my brief time in Houston, I was recognized by J.D. Powers & Associates client satisfaction surveys as one of the best funeral directors in the entire Houston area. In late 2015, I was called back to Waco and joined the staff of Lake Shore Funeral Homes as a Funeral Director where I have proudly served ever since.

I’m also the proud father to my only child, Emily, who is a student at Vanguard College Preparatory School in Waco.
